Located in quaint little village Benalmadena Pueblo which raises from the pine forests and separates the pueblo from the coast, you will experience this incredible fairy tale treasure🗝
The Colomares castle was dedicated to the life and adventures of Christopher Columbus in honour of the Discovery of America.
It’s a relatively new monument that had been built between 1987 – 1994, although it holds the charm and feel of something much older.
Built by Esteban Martin it combines Byzantine, Romanesque Arabic and Gothic architecture style.
It is said that this monument is like historical book carved in stone about the 15th century of Spanish culture and art.
I must admit the construction is just fascinating!
Especially that the only materials he used to build this castle was bricks, concrete stone and wood, all hand made without any machinery.
The entry is only 2,50€ and the opening hours are 10am-1:30pm & 4pm – 7pm from Wednesday to Sunday, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
It’s a short distance (around 20 minutes drive) from Malaga airport so if you fly there I highly recommend you to go and explore this fairy tale castle.
Location: Castillo de Colomares, Benalmádena

Loving you is easy. ❤️
We were walking down the streets of Barcelona yesterday and I turned to Ryan and said, “I love when we’re traveling because we actually get to spend time together.” 👫
Don’t get me wrong. We spend pretty much all day every day together, and we’re both so grateful because we know how rare that is. But when we’re home, it’s hard to ever stop working. A lot of our travels consist of work too, but instead of sitting separately at our computers, we’re out exploring and creating together. It gives us the opportunity to reconnect and make new memories together. And that makes all the long flights and chaotic experiences worth it. @cottonhousehotel
It was super classic, detailed, and so fashionable.
Well.. We did it.
WE QUIT OUR JOBS.
We packed our stuff.
We left home with nothing but a backpack and our cameras.
It’s time for a new adventure ✈️✨
After weeks of debating whether or not we were ready to make the move, we finally decided we were sick of putting our dreams on hold… So we said goodbye to our office jobs and our life in the UK, and we’re heading somewhere exciting. ☺️ Can you guess where? Hint: 🏝
