Turkey travel inspiration from those who have wandered before you. Discover the top places to stay, best food to eat, and must do sights to see while traveling to Turkey. Here are my top recommended stops for traveling to and exploring Turkey.
Excited to see so many of are visiting Turkey soon!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I want to share what you should prepare for and all the things I wish I had known before visiting.
1. 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 – Turkey has become very conservative over the years. Dress with the idea that this is a devout Muslim country. That means cover your legs and shoulders (unless you’re at the beach towns). No one will say anything to you, but you will feel extremely uncomfortable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 – There’s a huge shift in where tourists are from (mainly China and other Muslim countries). That means English is not widely spoken and you will not see many Western tourists. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. 𝗧𝗮𝘅𝗶 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗺𝘀 – this only happened in Istanbul. But all the taxi drivers I kept getting tried to scam us. They would try to take a longer route, try to charge 5x the actual price by not using a taxi meter, or run the taxi meter from prior rides. Make sure you use google maps and show them the route, ask them to use a taxi meter and make sure its reset. At one point we had to keep switching taxis 5 times before we got an honest driver. Uber doesn’t help with the scammers, they do the same thing there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Turkey is a beautiful country, this isn’t meant to scare you away. But by knowing this in advance, you’ll have a much more enjoyable experience and you’ll be prepared for your trip.
I hope you found this useful. As always you can ask me any questions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Located in the Anatolian region of Turkey, Cappadocia is one of the most surreal landscapes in the world. Volcanic eruptions nearly four million years ago left the landscape dotted with rock structures known as fairies. Now scattered with underground cities and carved out cave dwellings, Cappadocia has only begun to attract visitors (and their imaginations) in recent years.
Scratch one off your bucket list with a hot air balloon ride through Fairy Valley. Famous as one of the best hot air ballooning destinations in the world – go early in the morning and enjoy a Turkish style breakfast while soaring above the lunar-esque landscape below. Link in bio for more details.
