Pilates mat is a challenging, yet safe method to sculpt your body and to feel increased agility in your every day movements. Focus is placed on precise movements originating from the center or core of your body. Working from the deepest layers of muscles, which stabilize and support your spine and pelvis, resulting in a strong, flexible spine with ideal posture and alignment. Classes emphasize the foundational principals of Pilates while offering modifications and variations to suit each students individual needs. Pilates exercises are always practiced with the Pilates principles of centering, concentration, control, precision, breath, and flow. Pilates integrates and elevates the body, mind, and spirit. When a Pilates workout is infused with this kind of attention and quality it becomes more than a physical experience, and the effects are felt throughout one’s life. The mat is the perfect place to embody the Pilates principles.
