Small, charming castle that is free to explore on your own, while visiting Peneda-Gerês National Park. The castle sits alongside the espiqueiros and is also very close to the dam.

Fish, seafood, meat, everything grilled. That’s what you’ll find in Matosinhos. For fresh, grilled, fish and seafood right off the docks, look no further than Porto’s oceanfront neighborhood. Here you’ll find tons restaurants grilling their catch of the day, streetside. Stroll the street and pick a spot, they’re all great, but the local favorite is, Restaurante Lage do Senhor do Padrao. You may or may not need to wait, particularly if it’s Sunday, when every Portuguese family in the entire region joins together to brunch and drink.
